About the Artist Dolly Bolen

In January 2022 I launched my “Escape To Zen” Tile line! I started with 5” round Moonscape Tile© packages, colourized with my signature method. Then I launched my Heartscape Tile© packages next, then my 5” Squarescape Tile© packages, then my Tanglescape Tile© packages and my Fallscape Tile© packages! I believe I am the first Canadian Certified Zentangle Teacher to develop a made in Canada tile line. I spent a year testing colours, methods and papers to make my tiles different from anything out in the world!

I am an Award Winning Artist, Graphic Artist, Award Winning Photographer and Writer located in Morinville, Alberta, Canada.

My husband Billy is co-owner of Bolen’s Survival Inc. Billy shares his vast knowledge of survival skills such as knot tying to create one of a kind ART FOR SURVIVAL experiences for our customers.

We believe that Bolen’s Survival Inc. is the first company to combine art with survival skills such as knot tying in accessible, fun art classes.

I enjoy opening the door to creativity for others, helping them discover their artist within.  As artists I truly believe we should share our knowledge and love of art.  Drawing, Painting, taking Photographs, teaching Art/Zentangle classes and Writing are my passions.  

I am a member of the Allied Arts Council of Spruce Grove and Alberta Council for the Ukrainian Arts.

I am proud to be a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT).

I teach Zentangle in person locally, by PDF, online on video on YouTube and on Zoom and to individuals and groups all over the world!

Zentangle is a meditative art form drawing patterns creating beautiful images. Zentangle increases focus, creativity and provides artistic satisfaction along with an increased sense of personal well being. Each pattern has a name and there are simplified ways to draw seemingly complex looking patterns that a Certified Zentangle Teacher understands having learned how to teach the Zentangle Method at the Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT) Training Seminar in Providence, Rhode Island, USA. Dolly Bolen became a CZT in June of 2014.
